Rally Run-Thrus

Please join us for our returning Rally “Run Thrus” at Port Chester Obedience Training Club! We will be following the White Plains Weekend Obedience run thrus from 2 PM until 5 PM.

We will be offering 4 classes of run thrus in 2 rings:

  • Ring 1: Novice followed by Intermediate/Advanced (5 min/entry)

  • Ring 2: Excellent followed by Master (7 min/entry)

Go to here to register and to choose your preferred time slot.

Additionally, four-six volunteers are needed to run this event. If you’d like to volunteer and earn some hours, contact Anita Ambani at zurithebolo@gmail.com. In addition to credited hours, volunteers may have a free run through, if desired.

Happy Ratters Overview/Trials

Happy Ratter is a new urban vermin hunting sport. No rats are harmed; they are safe inside PVC tubes. On Dec. 9, PCOTC will offer a two-hour overview of Happy Ratters trials beginning at 8:30 am, followed by two trials from 11:00 to 4:00 pm. Happy Ratters provides a fun, trusting environment, a titling program, and a program that encourages camaraderie and support between competitions. The seminar is free and all are welcome.

Friday: Fundamental Skills and Drills. Learn foundation skills that will prepare your team for agility success. Saturday: Work Smarter, not Harder. Develop your skills: read lines, use motion, improve timing of cues, use 3D visualization skills, and more! Sunday: Read Between the Lines (Course Analysis). Find the clearest and fastest path for your dog. For experienced dogs.

Club Meeting/Spring Cleaning

Come help tidy up the club! 

Potential jobs include: 

  • crates taken outside and sterilized
  • new cardboard dividers attached with zipties to crates
  • black running mat pulled up and cleaned
  • mirrors washed
  • refrigerator emptied and cleaned
  • cabinets above the sink emptied and cleaned and organized
  • blankets taken home and washed
  • update flyer boards / whiteboard calendars
  • clean any large stains on the blue flooring

Any many more! If you show up we'll find a job for you. 

A Club Meeting will follow @ 6pm on the Lower Level. Food will be served beforehand.

One Standard and One Jumpers Course

2 minutes per run per dog (max of 2 runs per course). Limited to 100 runs. Entries close 02/09/2018 by 5 pm.

PCOTC at Meet the Breeds

PCOTC will staff a booth at the AKC's Meet the Breeds in Manhattan at Piers 92 & 94. Also at the Piers that day, 5th Annual Masters Agility Championship at Westminster, from 8 am – 4 pm.

We still need a couple of volunteers for MTB. Please contact Jane Wheeler at janewheeler@optimum.net

Tickets for Meet & Compete will be available at the door on the day of the event. Adults $32, $15 for children under 12.
