BECOMING A
MEMBER
Classes
offered through PCOTC are available only to members. First time students
automatically apply for Associate Membership (no additional forms/fees) by
signing the application form. To take any classes above the basic level you
must submit an application for full PCOTC membership.
Anyone
applying for membership must be enrolled in a training class at the time the
application is submitted or have successfully completed training class within
one year of submitting the application. Exceptions to this rule will be
considered by the Board for those who have volunteered at PCOTC events.
Membership
applications must be accompanied by a check for the appropriate dues amount plus
initiation fee (see membership application for more information). Any
application received without the appropriate payment will be returned.

VOLUNTEER
HOUR POLICY
New members may pay
Member Volunteer tuition rates after completing 6 hours of volunteer
service. In addition to those 6 hours, to receive the discount for the next club
year, you must complete 1 hour for each month of membership from the time you
are approved to the end of the current club year; not to exceed 12 hours. At
that point you will be treated as an existing club member.
Existing members’
volunteer hours are earned in one club year and applied to the next—hours do not
carry over—be sure you complete all 12 hours between June 1 and May 31 or you
will not receive the discount for an entire year.
For example, if you
put in 12 hours from 6/1/06 through 5/31/07—you will get the discount for the
next club year: 6/1/07 through 5/31/08 during which time you must accumulate 12
hours to get the discount for the following club year 6/1/08 through 5/31/09.
If you do NOT put in
your 12 hours during the 06/07 club year you will NOT receive a discount for the
07/08 club year but will still need to gather hours during the 07/08 club year
if you do want the discount for 08/09 club year.
