Audrey Woods

Teaching and training has been a life-long pursuit for Audrey. She has spent the last 16 years teaching children and the ten years before that, training adults. Having dogs around for most of her life, she has enjoyed training and competing in performance events, particularly Rally Obedience, with her four Bearded Collies.

As a Psychology major in college, Audrey became fascinated by the behavior theorists and found that the principles of operant conditioning were an excellent way to motivate and reward children and adults, as well as an effective method for training dogs.

Audrey has put a number of titles on her dogs, including CGC, TDI, RN, RL1, and HIC. She is a member of APDT and firmly believes in the potential of dogs to do well in a variety of performance venues with proper training and positive reinforcement. The key to success, she feels, is to make having fun the number one priority for both the handler and the dog.
