Peg Munves ~ PCOTC Obedience & Rally Instructor
PEG MUNVES
Peg Munves teaches Basic, CGC/TDI,
and Rally at PCOTC.
Her classes teach handlers how to
break down each behavior into simple steps that can be mastered before moving
on and how to motivate the dog to work successfully and reliably.
In addition, Peg brings her
experience as an APDT Rally Judge and active competitor in both AKC and APDT
Rally to both the Beginning Rally and Rally Course Work classes.
Peg is also the Executive Trainer
and Program Coordinator for Westchester and Fairfield's Good Dog Foundation
Program, training and placing teams for therapy dog services in a variety of
settings. With her yellow Labrador retriever, ARCH L1X Franklin Hills Jumpin'
Jazz RN, CGC, the team visits schools and homebound seniors and older friends
in senior residences.
In addition to doing therapy work and competing in Rally, Peg and Jazz also participate in local educational outreach events promoting therapy dog work and the benefits and fun of training companion dogs, and they enjoy participating in Canine Water Sports where Peg is a judge and also trains other teams. Peg trains with renowned trainers Sassie Joiris and Suzanne Clothier, and she has also interned with Sue Sternberg and Jane Kopelman at Rondout Valley Animals for Adoption.
